The original Key Strings program uses the string family of the orchestra to introduce children to the key elements of music within the National Curriculum. Timbre, Pitch, Texture, Dynamics, Tempo and Rhythm. The children will see the development of the string family from the Medieval Viol, to the Renaissance Violin, and into the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and modern day styles. A fun way to introduce children to the building blocks of music and a great catalyst to boosting uptake of instrumental participation in school.
